It is our firm belief that technical analysis can be an important part of the trading or investing process. Working with a bullpen of fundamentally sound stocks and employing technical timing tools to enter and exit positions is, what we believe, the optimum investment approach.
Portfolio managers, institutional traders and many high net worth, qualified investors typically have their own tried and true process for selecting fundamentally viable or appropriate stocks. We’re all too aware of the complex fundamental modeling that goes on in the institutional setting where there is usually a huge investment in getting the fundamentals right. The reality is, what’s “fundamentally sound” means different things to different people. We respect your selection process and leave the fundamentals to you.
We offer the technical perspective. Our methods are purely technical and we do not apologize for this. We believe that injecting our personal bias into the analytical process only muddies up the water. Sure, we always have an opinion on where the market is and where it’s likely to go but this market bias is based on technical criteria. When it comes to individual stock selection, we let the market do the talking. We employ good, old-fashioned technical rigor to scrub down thousands of stocks every day in order to bring you attractive chart patterns in a timely manner. When our technical picks match up with our clients’ fundamental picks, we might be onto a great trade.
We add value to the investment process by providing an unencumbered approach to stock selection. We are not beholden to a large, traditional sell-side research department and are thus not subject to the restrictions that might arise from such an environment. Our opinions do not have to be squelched by those of a lead economist, strategist or industry analyst. We don’t chase the latest hot trading desk stories, nor do we traffic in rumors. We don’t latch onto the latest Wall Street fads to formulate our opinions. We are not in business to sell stock or to generate commission income. Our only agenda is to serve our clients as effectively as possible by providing no-nonsense, technically relevant recommendations.
